object: Record collection cabinets

design objectives:This pair of cabinets was designed to house the collection of an ardent music enthusiast. 12" vinyl has always been revered for its tactile quality and it is only fitting that the cabinets that contain them should have a sensuous feel of their own. The primary focus of the cabinets is on the handles, the only part of the cabinet that we touch on a regular basis. The handles grow, organically, out of the doors, and once open, the solid cherry doors pocket into the cabinets to give full access to the collection.
